The Fennel Old House is located on Bell’s Island, one of the La Have Islands, which is connected to the mainland by a series of islands and bridges. Originally, the La Have Islands were home to a vibrant fishing community. Today they are inhabited by a combination of local families (many of whom still fish) and summer residents. The property sits on a secluded cove overlooking a bay, and islands beyond. It is surrounded by 15 acres of woodland, with no other houses in sight, providing privacy while you enjoy the beauty of the natural environment. Wildlife abounds with seabirds (gulls, great blue heron, cormorants, osprey), songbirds, marine life (the occasional seal, dolphin, or whale), deer, rabbits, and mink. |

The yard is
open and features berry bushes, a kitchen garden, and a wildflower garden.
You can enjoy the outdoors from any one of five sundecks
(including a roof deck) as well as a floating
dock, a hammock,
and a screened
gazebo nestled by the shore. |

light filled and airy with picturesque views from every window. It is
tastefully decorated with antiques, artwork, and country furniture. The
original wainscoting and woodwork have been preserved. There are tongue
and groove walls throughout the upstairs. |

Two old fashioned wood burning stoves provide charm and warmth in the living and dining rooms and remind visitors of island life years ago. The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric range, toaster oven, microwave, convection oven, coffee maker, food processor, and quality kitchenware. The spacious bathroom features an antique claw foot tub and pedestal sink. |
